Hytte standard:
According to Norwegian building regulations (TEK17), holiday cabins (hytter) with a heated floor area (BRA) of up to 70 m² are exempt from the energy efficiency requirements, including specific U-values for walls, roofs, floors, and windows.
This means that such buildings are not legally required to meet minimum thermal insulation standards. However, if the cabin is intended for year-round use, it is recommended to apply appropriate insulation materials to ensure thermal comfort and energy efficiency.
House Tek17 standard:
This standard provides the level of thermal insulation used in year-round residential buildings and offers the following insulation parameters:
External walls: U ≤ 0.18 W/m²K
Roof (flat or pitched): U ≤ 0.13 W/m²K
Ground floor: U ≤ 0.15 W/m²K
Windows and exterior doors: U ≤ 1.2 W/m²
In our house models, we use insulation solutions from Knauf Insulation throughout the entire building structure – including walls, roofs, floors, and foundation insulation. The products offer high thermal performance, contribute to energy efficiency, and create a comfortable and safe indoor climate all year round. The insulation’s high quality and fire resistance are essential to our year-round building technology and perfectly suited to Norwegian conditions.
Knauf Insulation offers a comprehensive range of insulation products for the entire building envelope – including walls, floors, roofs, and foundations. The product range includes glass wool, stone wool, and wood wool, all developed with a focus on environmental responsibility and indoor comfort. The products are made with ECOSE® Technology – a natural, formaldehyde-free binder that ensures a better indoor climate, easier handling, and reduced environmental impact. They also have excellent acoustic and fire-resistant properties.
